Toothman and Barra routinely researching new materials and procedures to make our patients treatment time most efficient and effective.Jones Jigs: Jones Jigs are an appliance used to gain arch length and reduce crowding by avoiding extraction of permanent teeth. This appliance is very effective and works in a relatively short time of 4-6 months. Damon Self-Ligating Brackets: Self Ligating Brackets have a sliding door that allows the wire to slide freely back and forth. The traditional type of brackets use elastic ties to keep the archwire tied to the brackets which can result in a more noticeable force on the teeth. The Damon Bracket System allows for less pressure on the teeth resulting in more comfort and quicker results. Orthodontic Rainbow of Colors: A fun thing for orthodontic patients now is choosing what "color" they want for ligatures, elastics and even retainers. We offer a wide variety of color choices in these items to add some fun and pizzazz to the traditional treatment. Finally Finished: There are several types of retainers available for maintaining your beautiful new smile. Our office offers the traditional plastic and wire type retainers as well as the new "clear" type that snap over the teeth and even a bonded or permanent type retainer. Which type of retainer you may have will be decided by the Doctor and based on what is best suited for your finished result. Digital x-rays: The new digital x-ray unit is state-of-the-art. Our radiograph images are immediately downloaded onto the computer screen for instant viewing by the Patient and Doctor. This new unit also cuts down radiation exposure by 75%.  |
